We’re excited to announce, that for the first time, we’ve decided to offer a set of spring mini-sessions! We’ve never done spring sessions before … but every year we have more and more folks ask if we’ll be offering them. This year, we wanted to give folks that option! (Conveniently, right before Mother’s Day as well!)

We’re offering a set of sessions on Saturday, April 16th at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. The sessions will be 30-minutes each, and cost $95. The full-resolution, digital files will be available for free download.

We’ll have a very limited number of slots between 7:30-11 a.m. that day, so be sure to contact Brandon ASAP to lock in your spot! You can shoot him an email , and time slots will be reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis!

The weather was picture-perfect Saturday for Brittany and Matt’s wedding at the oh-so-gorgeous Sonnet House. After what seemed like the LONGEST of winter off-seasons, we’re finally ready to kick off our 2016 season in earnest. Corey did a beautiful job with all the florals, as always … and we’re so grateful to the entire Sonnet House team for making our job that much easier! Here’s a few favorites from the newlyweds’ big day!

I’ll always jump at the chance to shoot an engagement session at a location that has some special meaning to our brides and grooms. So when Kelsey and Patrick suggested her family’s river house outside Jasper, I was excited to head up that way! We were blessed with great weather for the shoot, and the bride-and-groom-to-be made things so easy! Here’s a few favorites from their session …

We had such a wonderful time last month with Whitney and Gabe celebrating their spring nuptials! The newlyweds said their vows at Canterbury United Methodist Church in Mountain Brook, and then headed downtown to Regions Field for a little baseball, drinks, and dancing. It was a lot of fun enjoying the reception AND a double header at the ballpark! Here’s a few favorites from Whitney and Gabe’s big day …

We’ve settled into a busy wedding season, and had a wonderful weekend with Mary Lassiter and Drew! These two made our work a breeze, and we enjoyed every moment of it! They said their vows in front of family and friends at Mountain Brook Community Church, and then traveled to Vestavia Country Club for a beautiful reception. ML wore stunning Monique Lhuillier gown from Ivory and White, along with the comfiest pair of Toms wedding shoes you’ve ever seen. The ever-so-talented Celine Russell and her team handled the hair and makeup duties for the ladies. After a delicious dinner, the newlyweds and their guests danced the night away with music courtesy of Black Jacket. We were so grateful to be part of ML and Drew’s nuptials, and wanted to show off just a few favorites while we work thru their proofs …

We had such an amazing day this past Saturday with Peyton and A.J.! They’re a wonderfully kind couple, and we were blessed to be part of their nuptials. They said their vows at Cahaba Park Church at the Carraway-Davie House, and celebrated with family and friends until the sun went down. Here’s just a “few” favorites from their gorgeous spring wedding …

Jennifer and Daniel are one of those couples you want to be friends with … even when it’s not their wedding day. From our first meeting to discuss their nuptial plans, we knew they were the perfect couple for Simple Color. Relaxed, funny, and willing to let us drag them up and down the fields at the Barn at Shady Lane. :-)

Their’s was the prettiest May wedding date I can remember, and it made for an easy day of photos with the newlyweds, their family, and friends. The gorgeous reception florals, bouquets, and boutonnieres were put together by Carol Riley from Lillies. The folks from Happy Catering supplied some delicious food (as always). Jennifer wore a stunning dress courtesy from the White Room, and finished her ensemble off with some comfy … and very sparkly … Kate Spade Keds.

So with all that said, here’s a few favorites from Jennifer and Daniel’s big day …

Katherine and Bradley exuded elegance for their big day this past weekend at the Sonnet House. Katherine was drop-dead gorgeous in her dress from the White Room, and finished her look off with TWO pairs of beautiful Badgley Mischka shoes! The ladies at Morgan Ashley Salon perfected her hair and makeup, and the wonderful folks at the Sonnet House ran as smooth a wedding day as you could ask for! These two shared some wonderful moments together on the big day, including a heartfelt gift exchange before they met at the altar … and Bradley finishing the night off by serenading his new bride with a couple of their favorite songs! We’re less than two weeks away from Katie and David’s big day … but it’s never too late to slip on an engagement session for a little photo dry run before they walk down the aisle. We’re constantly blessed with couples that are so easy going and relaxed, and these two are no exception. They made my job easy during their session, and we can’t wait for the big day at Samford’s Reid Chapel and Vulcan Park next weekend! Here’s a few favorites from their session …

Allison and Terry said their vows in an intimate ceremony with family and friends this past weekend at Anderson Gail Farms. It was a little toasty for their big day, but these newlyweds were so patient with us as we walked them all over the grounds for portraits. Allison’s hair and makeup were put together by the wonderful ladies from the Irrelephant Blog, and it was picture perfect. As we head into another busy weekend, here’s a few of our favorite moments from Allison and Terry’s big day …

It was another wonderful (yet slightly toasty) wedding weekend for us this past Saturday in Homewood. Rachel and Bishop celebrated their nuptials at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, and then headed up the mountain for a night of dinner, dancing, and beautiful views at The Club. The talented folks at Flowerbuds worked their floral magic, and the 14 Karat Gold Band kept everyone dancing well into the night! Here are some of our favorite moments from Rachel and Bishop’ wedding …

Callie & Joey

From the moment I photographed Callie and Joey’s engagement photos earlier this spring, I knew it was going to be such a fun wedding day. These two are so laid back and comfortable with each other, it made our day of work go by like a breeze! We shot their first look and portraits at the Barn at Shady Lane, and then travelled to Prince of Peace Catholic Church for the ceremony. After saying their “I Do’s”, it was back to the barn for a wonderful night of dinner and dancing. The couple capped off the evening with their guests by releasing some beautiful lanterns into a muggy Alabama night sky, and then heading off on their honeymoon thru a tunnel of sparklers. Here’s a few favorites from Callie and Joey’s big day!

It’s always nice to go back on campus at our alma mater for a wedding … and this past Saturday Samford was looking mighty pretty! Katie and David said their vows at the always-bright Reid Chapel, and then headed atop Red Mountain for a reception at Vulcan Park & Museum. Katie planned so many wonderful touches into her day, including wrapping her bouquet in one of her late father’s neckties. And who doesn’t like Taziki’s for dinner and an ice cream truck to finish the night off?! These two were so patient with us as we battled the Alabama heat for some portraits, and we’re loving the final results! Here’s some highlights from their wedding on campus …

Olivia is the cutest little darling, and despite being a little shy for the camera, made some great portraits! This is our second session with the Johnson family, and it was wonderful to see how much she’s grown since last time we photographed her! Here’s some favorites from here session:

Sally & Dustin

It’s a rare June day in Alabama when you’re blessed with comfortable, breezy weather … but that’s exactly what we got for Sally and Dustin’s beautiful lake wedding at the Church in the Pines. Fitting with the “lake” feel of the day’s events, Sally and Dustin made sure all their family and friends were comfortable, relaxed, and having a great time. After saying their vows by the water, the newlyweds headed to their reception at Willow Point Country Club (with a quick stop at Children’s Harbor for some portraits). They danced the night away, only stopping long enough for Dustin’s friends to throw him in the pool. Then in true lake fashion … they headed off on their honeymoon to Canada by boat. Here’s a few favorites from this duo’s Lake Martin nuptials …

Molly & Michael

Molly and Michael were such a wonderful couple to work with this past weekend. Despite triple-digit temperatures, the threat of rain, and a hectic schedule getting ready for the ceremony … they were smiling from ear-to-ear all through our prep and portrait time! Molly spent the morning getting ready with her girls at the Tutwiler Hotel, before meeting her groom-to-be on the front patio. After some portraits around downtown Birmingham, it was off to the Cathedral of St. Paul for the walk down the aisle. There are few Birmingham churches with more photo epic-ness than St. Paul’s, and we’re always excited to shoot some “I Do’s” there. After the ceremony, it was off to Iron City for the big celebration. City Heat Band out of Atlanta rocked the house, and the newlyweds danced the night away with their family and friends. Many thanks to Candice from M. Elizabeth Events for putting up with our prima donna photographer demands, and compliments to the folks at Hothouse Design Studio for another gorgeously-styled event. Elizabeth Ann and Butler’s wedding this past weekend was the perfect combination of classic elegance and one heck of a celebration. They said their vows at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Mountain Brook, and then traveled via trolley a few blocks over to the Mountain Brook Club for a delicious dinner and night of dancing. We were so grateful they asked us to be part of the big day, and were willing to brave the heat, humidity, and thunderstorms in order to get some good portraits. Here’s a few favorites from their nuptials …

Abbie and David were the perfect example of patience and poise on their wedding day. Despite being our hottest wedding day of the year thus far … and the threat of storms all afternoon … these two were such a joy to photograph! They said their vows at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church … before heading off to their reception at the Botanical Gardens! Here’s a few favorites from the very toasty, yet wonderful wedding day …

Laura & Jarrod

It was such a privilege to travel to Highlands, North Carolina a few weeks ago for Laura and Jarrod’s intimate mountain wedding. They had the picture-perfect setting in Laura’s family cabin and the surrounding property. It was technically a “rainy” day, but thankfully the weather held off for a beautiful outdoor ceremony on the cabin’s front lawn. Only after everyone was safely in the reception tents did the bottom drop out. But by then they were all so busy enjoying the catered mexican food and dancing … I’m pretty sure few people noticed the drops! Here’s a much-belated post from Jarrod and Laura’s rustic mountain nuptials …

We wrapped up a busy (and hot) summer of weddings this past weekend with Rebekah and Dan’s big day in Tuscaloosa. It’s always a pleasure to work alongside Meghan and Candice from M. Elizabeth Events … and Saturday was no different. The bride in groom said their vows at Christ Church … where we weren’t allowed to take photos of the ceremony. :-( After the nuptials, it was over to Cypress Inn for a beautiful reception along the river! Here’s a few favorites from Rebekah and Dan’s “I Do’s” …
